The bank lends across Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, so these totals are not limited to Bangor.

Consumer revolving credit, which the bank says consists mainly of home equity lines, grew 13.0% to $620.9 million. Unused home equity lines also rose, to $644.7 million from $588.5 million, which points to households keeping borrowing capacity against their homes1. Commercial real estate added $79.5 million (calculated), the largest dollar gain of any segment.
The bank also reported $108 million in community development lending, of which $42 million went to 16 affordable housing projects and organizations, and says it was recognized as Maine’s leading SBA 504 third-party lender2.
Consumer installment loans grew fastest, up 46.4%, yet they are still only about 1% of the bank’s loan book1. If you own a home or belong to a local credit union, compare those borrowing costs with any short-term loan offer before you sign.
